US Inflation Data, Crude Oil Set to Steer Bullion Markets This Week
Gold and silver prices are expected to be influenced by various market factors this week. Analysts point out that upcoming US inflation figures, crude oil price movements, and geopolitical tensions in West Asia will play a significant role in determining the prices of these precious metals.
Inflation data from the US, specifically the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for August 2026, is scheduled to be released on September 11. This data is expected to have a major impact on bullion markets due to ongoing speculation surrounding interest rate outlooks.
According to Pranav Mer, Senior Vice President of EBG - Commodity & Currency Research at JM Financial Services Ltd, 'US inflation numbers would be the key trigger for bullion markets amid considerable speculation over the interest rate outlook.'
Last week, gold futures for October delivery fell Rs 3,514 (2.2%) to Rs 1.52 lakh per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange, while silver declined Rs 4,786 (2%) to Rs 2.37 lakh per kg.
