The Chicago Fed President, Austan Goolsbee, said that inflation readings are improving as shocks fade. Many inflation drivers came from tariffs and oil, initially expected as one-time jumps.

Goolsbee noted that if these shocks can be left behind, inflation can get towards the Federal Reserve's 2% goal.

The US economy remains stable, with no mention of recession or economic downturn in Goolsbee's statement.
