US Inflation Slows in July, Fuels Central Bank Hopes

The US consumer price index, excluding volatile food and energy categories, rose by 0.2% in July compared to the previous month.

This inflation slowdown was reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday, August 12th, at 10:11 PM UTC.

On an annual basis, US inflation accelerated to 2.5%, according to the BLS data from the US Department of Labor.

Despite this increase, prices continued to rise faster than pre-US-Israel war levels and outpaced average wages.
