US Inflation Spikes as Gas Prices Soar
US inflation has accelerated in August as gas prices spiked.
The latest data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.1% in August, following a 0.3% increase in July.
Gasoline prices were a major contributor to the rise in inflation, with the price of regular gasoline increasing by 5.6% over the past month.
The increase in gas prices has been attributed to a combination of factors, including supply chain disruptions and increased demand.
