US-Iran De-Escalation Boosts Global Markets
The US-Iran de-escalation has brought relief to global markets, causing a rally in stocks and a decline in oil prices. The U.S. dollar weakened against major currencies on Monday as tensions between the United States and Iran eased.
The euro gained 0.2% to $1.1397, while the British pound also rose 0.2% to $1.3353. This move followed the US decision to temporarily suspend its air campaign against Iran after nearly two weeks of strikes.
Brent crude fell by about 4.7% to $92.19 a barrel as traders reduced the geopolitical risk premium amid signs of de-escalation. The dollar slipped 0.2% against the Japanese yen, marking its largest daily decline since July 10.
