US Sanctions on Iran Send Asian Markets into a Holding Pattern
Asian markets were subdued on Monday as investors waited for details of threatened US sanctions on Iran. Oil prices also eased, with Brent crude down 1.5% to $93.02 per barrel ahead of the announcement.
The tech sector is expected to report Nvidia's quarterly results on Wednesday, with analysts predicting a nearly doubling of revenue to around $92 billion. The company's full-year earnings guidance is seen in a range of $103 billion to $105 billion.
Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is set to speak at the Jackson Hole conference on Friday, where investors are hoping for clarity on the US interest rate outlook. However, analysts expect Warsh to avoid providing forward guidance, as he has done in the past.
