US Stock Futures Mixed Ahead of PPI Report and ECB Decision
US stock futures were mixed on Thursday as investors await key data releases. The Dow and S&P 500 contracts rose, while Nasdaq 100 futures fell.
The producer-price index (PPI) report is set to be released at 8:30 am ET, with economists expecting a 0.4% month-over-month increase in headline PPI and 0.3% for core PPI. A hotter print could lead to higher yields and pressure on growth shares.
Brent crude remained above $101 a barrel, keeping inflation fears alive. The US 10-year Treasury yield hovered near 4.85%, close to its highest level since 2023.
The European Central Bank is expected to raise its deposit rate by 25 basis points to 2.5% on Thursday. Christine Lagarde's guidance will be closely watched, with ING economists predicting she will keep her options open and resist endorsing market pricing for additional increases.
