US Stock Market Pressured by Economic Concerns
The US stock market is experiencing pressure due to concerns about the economy.
Today, the S&P 500 Index SPY fell by -0.05%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average DIA dropped by -0.15%, and the Nasdaq 100 Index QQQ declined by -0.06%.
The decline in stocks was triggered by weak US retail sales and consumer sentiment reports, which reduced the likelihood of a September Fed rate hike to 29% from 35%. However, this also sparked worries about a weaker economy and corporate earnings.
The 10-year T-note yield rose +3.2 basis points to 4.674%, despite the weak economic reports, as inflation concerns continued to dominate market sentiment.
