US Stocks Falter as Inflation Gauge and Nvidia Earnings Loom
US stock futures continued to tread water on Wednesday as investors digested the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge, the core personal consumption expenditures price index. The index rose by 0.2%, which is in line with expectations.
The S&P 500 Index was slightly negative at 12:08 p.m. in New York, pulling away from Tuesday's gains. Meanwhile, the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index was down 0.2%.
Investors are now waiting for earnings from chipmaking giant Nvidia Corp., which could provide more insight into market sentiment.
