US Stocks Plummet After Fed Keeps Interest Rates Unchanged
US stocks plummeted on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve chose to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.5% to 3.75%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by over 1,100 points in a single trading session.
The Nasdaq and S&P 500 indices also suffered significant losses, falling more than 1.5% each.
The Federal Reserve's decision was made despite inflation remaining above its 2% target. The central bank acknowledged the economy is still growing, albeit with uncertainty tied to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
