Grant Forsyth, chief economist for Avista Corp., notes that tariffs raise prices and that the administration is committed to this policy.
On Monday, President Trump announced plans to impose higher tariffs on a wide range of goods, including cars, trucks, and steel, effective January 1, 2027. This move has sparked concerns about retaliation from Canada, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney calling the US actions an 'attack'.
