US Trade Rep Says Article 301 Tariffs Won't Impact Inflation
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer has stated that the 'Article 301 Tariff' imposed on countries, including South Korea, will not affect inflation in the U.S.
In an interview with Fox News, Greer said the tariff would have no impact at all on the Federal Reserve's ability to freeze interest rates.
The Article 301 Tariff allows the U.S. to investigate unfair trade practices and take customs and retaliation measures if necessary.
South Korea has imposed a 12.5 percent tariff, as part of a list of tariffs that include 60 countries accounting for 99.4% of total U.S. imports.
