US Treasury Yields Soar Amid Oil Price Surge
The US Treasury yield has reached its highest point since October 2023, hitting 4.96% for the 10-year benchmark.
This surge is largely attributed to rising oil prices, with the WTI benchmark crossing above $100 per barrel amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran.
The 30-year Treasury yield has also reached a record high of 5.37%, its highest in nearly two decades.
Investors are speculating that a renewed energy crisis will reignite inflation, prompting the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates sooner rather than later.
