US Ultra-Long-Haul Flights: Singapore Airlines' 19-Hour Nonstop Routes Reign Supreme
The United States has several ultra-long-haul flights that span over 19 hours. According to data from Cirium, an online aviation analytics company, the longest flight is operated by Singapore Airlines and connects John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). These routes exceed 19 hours nonstop when flying back to Singapore and are operated by the specially designed Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft.
The flight is unique not just due to its long duration, but also because it uses an airline that has the longest range of any current airplane. The aircraft is configured with no economy class, meaning it's for premium passengers in the airline's business and premium economy cabins.
Other notable ultra-long-haul flights from the United States include those operated by Air New Zealand and Qantas between New York-JFK and Auckland Airport (AKL), which take around 18 hours and five minutes. Philippine Airlines also operates a route from New York to Manila, while Singapore Airlines offers frequent flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Singapore.
