USD/JPY Bounces Back Amid Volatility
The US dollar's price action against the Japanese yen on Wednesday saw an initial decline, but traders soon showed signs of life as volatility in the pair continued. The carry trade remains a significant factor in this market, with the Bank of Japan intervening multiple times to suppress price discovery.
Despite this suppression, analysts believe that USD/JPY is trying to regain its footing at the 160 yen level. This area has previously shown resistance and also coincides with the 50-day EMA, adding to its importance.
Christopher Lewis, a technical analyst at DailyForex, remains bullish on the pair, citing his long position and plans to continue buying micro positions on dips. He sees the possibility of challenging the 162 yen level if prices can close above 160 yen.
