USD/JPY Stagnant Amid Strong US Jobs Data and Firm Yen Expectations

Despite a stronger-than-expected US employment report, the USD/JPY currency pair held steady around 155.85 on Friday.

The US Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) rose by 162,000 in August, exceeding market forecasts for a 56,000 increase, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Previous employment figures were revised higher, with July's payroll growth raised to 21,000 and June's figure upgraded to 31,000.

The broader US employment report showed resilience in the labor market, with the unemployment rate remaining steady at 4.1% and the Labor Force Participation Rate increasing to 61.6%

However, wage growth slowed modestly, with Annual Average Hourly Earnings increasing 3.1% in August, down from 3.2% in July.
