USD Longs Stay Stretched as Yen Bears Continue Retreat
The latest COT report reveals that futures traders remain heavily net-long USD by $35.5 billion, trimming just $0.4 billion from the prior week.
This trend has been ongoing for some time, with the US dollar's three-year, one-year, and three-month percentile ranks all remaining above 90.
Asset managers also trimmed their net-long exposure to the USD for a second week, but it remains high considering recent price action.
The euro has seen a slight increase in net-short exposure among large speculators, but they are still less bearish than two weeks ago at their 20-month peak.
The yen continues to see short covering, with asset managers reducing their gross shorts by 16.8k contracts and large speculators reducing theirs by 16.4k contracts for a combined 32k contracts of short covering.
