USD Rises Against CHF Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions

The US dollar has strengthened against the Swiss franc as tensions in the Middle East escalate. The USD/CHF pair has traded around 0.8170 for the fifth consecutive day, with the US dollar gaining support due to rising safe-haven demand.

Oil prices have increased following Yemen's attack on two Saudi oil tankers and the US military strikes against Iran. This has led to expectations of a potential interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve (Fed), with money markets pricing in a 35.8% chance of a rate increase this month and an 82.1% probability of at least a quarter-point hike in September.

The Swiss franc could receive support due to Switzerland's rising bond yields, which have reached near a two-month high amid escalating Middle East tensions and energy costs. However, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) is likely to intervene with foreign exchange sales to cap any sudden currency surges.
