USD/SGD Rebound Hits Resistance at 1.2705
The USD/SGD currency pair has seen a sudden shift in momentum, rebounding to 1.2686 after expectations for a narrow range of 1.2630-1.2655. This upward trend is expected to continue as long as the pair stays above the key support level of 1.2640.
However, traders should be aware that heavy resistance lies ahead at 1.2705, which could cap any major breakouts for now. The Monetary Authority of Singapore's tight monetary policy stance has kept the Singapore Dollar Nominal Effective Exchange Rate safely in the upper half of its policy band, making it difficult for the US dollar to rally.
Derivative traders are advised to utilize strategies that benefit from a capped upward move, such as selling out-of-the-money put options with strikes below 1.2640 or a bull call spread targeting the 1.2695 level.
