Utah Job Market Shows Resilience with 1.4% Growth and Steady Unemployment
Utah's job market continues to show resilience, according to the state's Department of Workforce Services. The latest numbers show that nonfarm payroll employment in the state increased by approximately 1.4% over the past 12 months.
The state added 25,200 jobs since July 2025, bringing the current job count to 1,778,300. This growth is attributed to various sectors, including professional and business services, education and health services, and construction, which recorded a 28,900-job increase in July.
However, some sectors experienced losses, such as information and natural resources. The state's unemployment rate remains steady at 4.1%, matching the national average.
