Utah's labor market has shown resilience in recent months, according to the latest data from the Department of Workforce Services. The state's nonfarm payroll employment increased by an estimated 1.4% over the past year, with a cumulative addition of 25,200 jobs since July 2025. This brings Utah's current job count to 1,778,300.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state is estimated at 3.6%, remaining unchanged from June's level. Approximately 64,800 Utahns are currently unemployed, with lower rates reported in Daggett County (3.4%), Duchesne County (3.7%), and Uintah County (3.6%).

Chief economist Ben Crabb notes that despite some headwinds, employers across various sectors continue to expand their payrolls.
