Venezuelan opposition leader David Smolansky expressed concern about the potential misuse of gold held at the Bank of England during an interview on Voz News.

The gold in question is a significant asset, and Smolansky emphasized that 'if there's one thing the regime has been known for over the years, it's corruption, embezzlement, and money laundering.'

He warned against allowing Chavismo to access the gold, arguing that it could be used to fund further scandals instead of alleviating the suffering caused by recent earthquakes in Venezuela.

Smolansky also reaffirmed his support for María Corina Machado as the leader of the democratic movement in Venezuela.
