Vermont Senator Pushes Back Against Tariff War

Vermont Senator Peter Welch hosted a press conference at Jay Peak Resort to highlight the impact of President Donald Trump's tariffs on local businesses and communities. Welch was joined by eight speakers, including Jay Peak Resort General Manager and President Steve Wright, who spoke out against the tariffs.

The imposition of tariffs against Canada led Premier Mark Casey to retaliate with 50 percent tariffs on many American exports. Senator Welch is drafting legislation to protect the country's businesses and economy as a first step to repair relations between the two trading partners.
