Vietnam Strengthens Ties with Australia and New Zealand through State Visits
Party General Secretary and President To Lam recently embarked on state visits to Australia and New Zealand at the invitation of their Governor-Generals. The trips marked a significant milestone in Vietnam's foreign policy, aiming to strengthen ties with these key partners.
The Vietnamese leader met with high-ranking leaders, politicians, business executives, scholars, and people from both countries. He reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to close cooperation, joint efforts, and co-creation with Australia and New Zealand, particularly in areas such as science and technology, innovation, education, trade, investment, green transformation, critical minerals, high-tech agriculture, and the marine economy.
The visits resulted in the signing of 62 cooperation documents and agreements, including three key joint statements between Vietnam and Australia on deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership. The foreign minister highlighted the importance of this new model of cooperation, which focuses on joint research, co-development, and co-creation of value in areas like AI, semiconductors, digital transformation, critical minerals, energy, and green transition.
