Top Vietnamese leader meets New Zealand's Friendship Association president

In Auckland on August 12, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee and President Tô Lâm met with Steven Joyce, Acting President of the New Zealand, Việt Nam Friendship Association. The two leaders discussed the association's efforts in promoting bilateral relations between their countries.

The Vietnamese leader acknowledged the association's active contributions to strengthening social foundations of the ties between Việt Nam and New Zealand, particularly in education, economy, agriculture, and science and technology. He confirmed that after over five decades, bilateral diplomatic relations have made strong, comprehensive progress.

Lâm also expressed his hope for further cooperation between the two countries, highlighting potential areas such as climate change response, green and clean agriculture, and education. He called on the association to maintain its role as a bridge between Việt Nam and New Zealand, while promoting collaboration in science and technology, economy, and education.
