Warsh and Nvidia Set to Steer Markets Amid Bond Yield Surge
The markets are eagerly anticipating two major events this week: the Jackson Hole symposium and Nvidia's earnings report. The Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole symposium, scheduled for August 27-29, will feature Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, who has shown little interest in offering guidance on policy framework.
This is a concern for investors, as bond yields surged this week, putting pressure on stocks and raising borrowing costs. Despite the US Treasury Department's efforts to calm markets, yields rebounded on Thursday, prompting a shift in investor focus to the Jackson Hole symposium.
Nvidia's second quarter results, scheduled for August 26, will also be closely watched as they provide insight into the AI ecosystem and its growth trends. Analysts expect Nvidia's earnings report to have a significant impact on the entire sector.
David Wagner, head of equities at Aptus Capital Advisors, notes that investors are looking for clarity from Warsh on how the Fed intends to approach policy framework. 'All eyes are going to be pointed towards Jackson Hole ... because there's still not a whole lot of clarity,' he said.
