Warsh Derangement Syndrome Sparks Hysteria Over Moderate Reforms

Kevin Warsh's appointment as Chairman of the Federal Reserve has sparked a wave of criticism, reminiscent of previous 'derangement syndromes' such as Bush Derangement Syndrome and Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The latest example, dubbed Warsh Derangement Syndrome, is characterized by over-the-top reactions to moderate reforms proposed by Warsh.

Warsh's initial moves have included rolling back 'forward guidance', reducing the number of policy meetings from eight to six, and exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on inflation forecasting.

These changes have been met with hysterical criticism, with some economists warning that they will lead to economic disaster. However, it is argued that these reforms are long overdue, given the Fed's track record in managing monetary policy.

Since 2022, inflation has remained stubbornly high, peaking at above 9 percent, and the balance sheet has exploded due to quantitative easing.
