Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh is under pressure to provide more insight into his economic views as he prepares to deliver his first keynote speech at the annual Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium on Friday.

A special edition of the CNBC Fed Survey found that 80% of respondents, including economists, strategists, and investors, believe Warsh should offer more transparency about his views. The survey's participants were split 48% to 48% on whether Warsh should share his outlook on interest rates.

Kathy Bostjancic, chief U.S. economist at Nationwide, noted that Warsh's address would be significant given the uncertainty surrounding inflation and the Fed's reaction function. Constance Hunter, chief economist and head of research at Economist Enterprise, pointed out that by avoiding forward guidance, Warsh has shifted communication about the reaction function to meeting minutes and other Federal Open Market Committee members' speeches.
