Warsh Floats Revising Fed Meeting Schedule

Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh has proposed changing the frequency of the central bank's policy meetings, according to people familiar with the matter.

At a recent gathering of the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee, Warsh floated the idea of holding six meetings per year to decide on interest rates and other monetary policy issues, as well as twice-yearly discussions on economic topics.

No decision has yet been made regarding this potential change in meeting frequency or timing. The proposal was raised during last week's Federal Open Market Committee gathering.
