Warsh Moves to Break Wall Street's Addiction to Fed Guidance
IBM Vice Chairman Gary Cohn believes that Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is trying to reduce the market's reliance on Federal Reserve guidance and encourage investors to make decisions based on economic data.
Cohn, speaking with Bloomberg Television on Monday, stated that the markets have become 'addicted' to clear signals from the Fed after the 2008 financial crisis.
He said Warsh is steering the central bank back to a more traditional style of policymaking, where policymakers give markets fewer hints about future decisions.
Cohn emphasized that investors should not rely solely on Fed guidance and instead make decisions based on their own analysis and economic data.
