Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh emphasized the importance of maintaining higher interest rates to combat inflation during his semiannual report to Congress. He stated that the central bank's primary objective is price stability, and members have 'no tolerance for persistently elevated inflation.'

The current inflation rate remains above the Fed's 2% target, with a 3.5% year-over-year increase in June according to Consumer Price Index data.

Market expectations of early rate cuts under new leadership appear unlikely to materialize, as CME Group's FedWatch tool indicates a 90% probability that benchmark interest rates will stay higher through the end of the year.
