Warsh Set to Outline Rate Outlook and Reform Plans in Key Speech
Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is set to deliver his first major address as head of the US central bank at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium this Friday. Markets are closely watching for signals on interest rate policies, following limited guidance from Warsh after the July meeting.
The core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, scheduled for release on Wednesday, is projected to show an annual increase of 3.6%, remaining above the Fed's 2% target.
In addition to monetary policy, Warsh is expected to address institutional reforms, having established five working groups to review the central bank's communication frameworks and organizational approach.
