Warsh Under Pressure to Reveal Trump Calls Amid Interest Rate Feud
A group of Democratic lawmakers has sent a letter to Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh, urging him to disclose any conversations he's had with President Donald Trump since taking over the central bank in May.
The request comes amid reports that Trump has periodically spoken by phone with Warsh, with the goal of persuading the Fed to lower interest rates.
This is not the first time the White House has attempted to influence the Fed's decisions, as it recently renewed an attempt to dismiss Fed Governor Lisa Cook.
