Warsh Vows to Hit 2% Inflation Target Amid Rising US Debt Concerns
Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh has reaffirmed the Federal Reserve's commitment to bringing inflation back down to its target rate of 2%. Speaking at a press conference on July 29, he emphasized that there is no 'soft inflation target' and that the central bank will aim for exactly 2%.
According to Wall Street analysts, Warsh seems to have been taken seriously. The differential between Treasury bonds with inflation protection and those without suggests that investors expect average inflation to be around 2.25%, aligning closely with the Fed's target.
