At the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's annual Jackson Hole economic conference, Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh expressed concerns about inflation and financial conditions. He noted that despite recent improvements in price readings, the underlying trend has not shown meaningful improvement. Warsh emphasized that the Fed must be confident that inflation is moving towards its objective at a sufficient speed.

Warsh also stated that he would have difficulty describing broad financial conditions as restrictive. He highlighted that financing conditions did not look restrictive to him, suggesting that the central bank may continue to take action against inflation.

The conference theme was innovation in policy-making, and Warsh's comments focused on the need for the Fed to prioritize price stability alongside full employment. His remarks were a signal that the central bank may not be done fighting inflation yet.
