Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has stated that interest-rate increases could be part of the solution to high inflation, according to comments made at a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) press conference.

The comments were made on July 29, and reinforced Warsh's earlier statement that the Fed's sole objective is 2% price stability.

Warsh emphasized that future monetary policy will depend on the course of prices and that he is not ruling out additional rate hikes if inflation stays higher for longer than expected.
