Warsh Watch: EUR/USD Hinges on Hawkish Tone at Jackson Hole
The EUR/USD pair is under pressure as investors await the highly anticipated speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole Symposium.
Recent comments from Fed officials suggest a more hawkish tone, with Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack stating that it's time for the central bank to act on raising interest rates to combat inflation.
Hammack noted that inflation could end the year at around 3%, still above the Fed's 2% target, and warned that delaying action could cause more pain later.
The US Dollar has benefited from these calls for tighter monetary policy, with EUR/USD trading at 1.1645 on Friday, down 0.07% from the previous day.
