Warsh's Jackson Hole Address Sparks Market Uncertainty
The Federal Reserve's annual economic symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is set to kick off on Friday, and markets are eagerly awaiting some clarity from new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh.
However, according to Stephen Kates, a certified financial planner at Clocktower Financial Consulting, Warsh has been tight-lipped about his plans, leaving market watchers to do 'some guesswork.'
Kates notes that traditionally, the Fed chair uses this annual meeting to set the tone for the rest of the year.
Warsh, when asked by reporters at his last news conference about his approach to Jackson Hole, said he was treating it as a 'blank piece of paper.'
This has added tension to bond markets, where long-term Treasury yields have risen in recent months, Kates says.
