The Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole symposium is set to take place from August 27-29, and investors are eagerly awaiting Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's first appearance at the event. The meeting comes amid strong jitters in the bond market, with Warsh previously commenting that he does not want to 'spoon-feed' markets with detailed guidance on future decisions.

This year's topic is 'Financial Innovation: Implications for Payments and Policy', but investors are more interested in what Warsh has to say about inflation and interest-rate policy. With US inflation above the 2% target for over five years, market analysts believe that the American central bank's interest rates need to be higher.

Adam Posen, president of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, stated that 'both the bond market and the FOMC have clearly decided to wake up' to account for higher inflation. He added that Warsh should focus on evaluating the economy in the present rather than dwelling on long-term ideas.
