The World Bank has successfully priced a GBP 1.25 billion sterling bond at a 4.750% coupon and 4.766% yield, marking its tightest ever GBP fixed-rate spread.

The bond matures in November 2032 and channels funding toward the lender's development activities in member countries.

Investor demand exceeded GBP 1.9 billion, with UK-based investors taking 89% of the allocation, followed by banks, bank treasuries, and corporates receiving 78%, and asset managers, insurers, and pension funds with 20%.

Jorge Familiar, Vice President and Treasurer at the World Bank Group, said the reception from sterling investors was exceptional and complements the institution's benchmark transactions in U.S. dollars and euros this month.
