Wyoming Producers Meet with Fed Economists to Share Agricultural Insights

A group of Wyoming producers will meet with Federal Reserve economists to discuss agricultural economic conditions. The roundtable, hosted by the Kansas City Fed's Center for Agriculture and the Economy, is a chance for farmers and ranchers to share their unique challenges and insights.

The event, which takes place on September 24 at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, was organized by John Hewlett, a University of Wyoming ranch and farm management specialist. Hewlett worked with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City to assemble a group of participants that reflects the breadth of agriculture in Wyoming.

The discussion will cover issues such as transportation and marketing challenges, irrigation water problems, and the realities of producing livestock and crops in Wyoming's arid environment. The Kansas City Fed combines conversations with producers and other agricultural stakeholders with surveys and economic data to build a clearer picture of agricultural conditions.
