A group of producers from Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska will meet with Federal Reserve economists to discuss agricultural economic conditions. The roundtable is part of a series held by the Kansas City Fed's Center for Agriculture and the Economy.

John Hewlitt, a University of Wyoming ranch and farm management specialist, helped organize Wyoming's participation in the roundtable. He worked with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City to identify and recruit a cross-section of operators that reflect the breadth of agriculture in Wyoming.

Hewlett said the producers will explain conditions that don't always show up clearly in regional numbers, including transportation and marketing challenges, arid environment, irrigation water issues, and producing livestock and crops in Wyoming. The Fed combines conversations with producers and other agricultural stakeholders with surveys and economic data to build a clearer picture of agricultural conditions.
