XRP Options Registered in US, Canada's Financial Market Leads the Way
Canada's financial market has made another significant move in favor of XRP-based instruments. The Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC) confirmed the registration of options on the Evolve XRP ETF and Purpose XRP ETF for sale in the US under Form S-20.
This move follows a similar path laid out by notices published in the U.S. Federal Register, where the SEC and CFTC classified XRP as a qualifying digital commodity. This classification allows U.S. institutions to access trading the asset's volatility through familiar Canadian exchange-traded contracts.
Interestingly, this shift coincides with the first public filings from Canada's largest banks, which have begun adding XRP exposure to their disclosures. National Bank of Canada reported a stake worth approximately $330,000 in the regulated Bitwise XRP ETF, while Bank of Montreal (BMO) also disclosed investments in XRP products.
