XRP's Price Stuck Below $1.40 as Inflows Fail to Spark Breakout

XRP has continued to outperform other major cryptocurrencies, gaining 36% since its late-August rally. However, the token's recovery remains limited by renewed macroeconomic uncertainty and persistent selling pressure near $1.40.

The US inflation rate rose 3.4% year over year in August, matching market expectations but exceeding forecasts month-over-month by 10 basis points. This pushed the probability of a September interest-rate hike to 87%, causing cryptocurrency prices to initially rally before fading over the weekend.

XRP spot exchange-traded funds have attracted approximately $32 million in net inflows so far this month, with the potential for close to $90 million by the end of September. This would represent a 41% decline from August's total but still exceed June and July's inflows.

Ripple's native stablecoin, RLUSD, has seen its market capitalization increase by 50% in one month, reaching $2.4 billion. This growth suggests greater adoption of Ripple's payments and financial-services ecosystem, which could eventually strengthen demand for XRP.
