Yen Falls Below 160 Per Dollar Amid Concerns of Further Intervention
The Japanese yen has fallen below 160 yen per dollar for the second time this year, sparking concerns about further intervention from the US and Japan.
The yen's value had risen to around 155.2 yen in mid-August after joint intervention between the two countries, but it has since dropped back down due to a lack of additional action.
According to State Street strategist Lee Ferridge, 'The market seems to be disappointed that there was no additional intervention,' and without further intervention, the yen will likely continue to fall.
