Yen Gains Momentum as BoJ Officials Signal Rate Hike
The Japanese yen has resumed its gains against the US dollar in Asian trading on Monday, moving closer to its four-week high.
The yen's rise was supported by hawkish comments from some Bank of Japan officials, including Governor Kazuo Ueda and board member Hajime Takata.
In a recent interview, Ueda stated that the central bank would discuss raising interest rates, including at its September meeting, with a focus on whether inflation risks are increasing.
Takata also emphasized the need for more flexible monetary policy to counter growing inflationary pressures.
