Yen Intervention Boost Fades Amid Asian Tech Rally
The yen surged against the dollar on Thursday night, but lost its gains by Friday morning as Asian tech shares rallied.
The currency's intervention was likely the cause of the initial spike to around 158 against the US dollar, according to reports.
However, when trading opened in Japan on Friday, commercial demand for dollars offset the yen's gains, sending it back into the 160 range against the dollar.
