Yen Makes Sharp Comeback Against Dollar
The Japanese yen has experienced a sharp gain against the US dollar after making significant gains following a joint intervention by the US and Japan in late July.
The currency had fallen to a 40-year low of 163.98 before the intervention, but subsequently rose to 155.21, representing a notable increase.
It remains unclear what has prompted this latest move, but the yen's value is currently up by approximately 1% on the day at 158.56 per dollar.
