The Japanese yen has reached its strongest point against the US dollar since February, surging more than 2% in just one week.

This significant jump comes as traders anticipate that the Bank of Japan might raise interest rates sooner than expected, causing the US dollar to decline by 1.14% against the yen.

Currency analyst Lee Hardman from MUFG notes that breaking past a major level of 155 per dollar has given the yen even more momentum, suggesting it could continue rising.
