Yen Steady Near Six-Week Lows Amid Iran Deal Concerns
Currency markets were relatively calm on Thursday as concerns about a proposed U.S.-Iran deal and jitters over upcoming U.S. payroll data kept traders cautious.
The yen, which had been boosted by intervention efforts earlier this week, hovered at around 157.71 per dollar in early trade after two consecutive days of losses.
It has given back some of the gains it made when it touched 155.20 per dollar on Monday but remains well off its multi-decade low of about 164 set last month.
